WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Bob Bennett (R-Utah) issued the following statement on today’s indictment of I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby Jr., aide to Vice President Dick Cheney:
"If Scooter Libby actually did what he's accused of doing, it was really stupid and he deserves to lose his job. We'll find out for sure when the trial is over."
Libby was indicted on charges of obstruction of justice, making false statements, and perjury in the Central Intelligence Agency leak case.
